If I was in New York, I would be at the Migrating Forms Festival for the whole 5 days this April.

Migrating Forms is the organization that grew out of the New York Underground Film Festival (1993–2008), organized by former NYUFF programmers Nellie Killian and Kevin McGarry, presenting five days of new experimental film and video. Check out the website here: http://migratingforms.org/mf09/index.php

Owen Land has a premiere of Dialogues (2009) – I really hope this comes across the Atlantic, LUX in Dalston and Tate held a programme of Owen Land films a few years ago, they are witty, comic and playful.

DDR/DDR (2008) sounds good (Amie Siegel)
“Siegel’s concern with cultural memory, identity, and the cinematic portrayal of place centers on the former East German state, investigating Stasi surveillance, filmmaking, collective therapy, and ‘Indian hobbyists.'” (Jason Edward Kaufman)

And so does Steve Reinke’s Final Thoughts, Series One (Video / 82 min / 2007)
“Reinke is a prolific storyteller who enjoys sapping his self-righteous counterparts. As suggested by the title of The Hundred Videos (1989-1996), the volume of his output is monumental. In most of his work and in this series – a large part of which is shown on tank.tv – the procedure that underlies these brief videos consists of an exploration of the voice and of the role of the narrator.”
